• Weddings are 1 & 1/2 hours in length, and 3 hours for receptions. Rehearsals are 1 hour in length. They are held the Thursday night before the wedding (if available), if Thursday night is not available, they will be held Wednesday or Tuesday.  You will be able to schedule your rehearsal, no earlier than a month before your event, at the time the final payment is due.  There are no rehearsals on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.  No exceptions
  • Event dates will not be held in reserve without an application and 50% of the fee paid at time of booking. There are no verbal holds.
  • The final balance is due 1 month prior to the event.  Failure to submit this final payment by this date, will result in cancellation of event.
  • One hour additional time for receptions are permissible for  a  fee of $250.00 per hour until 12:30 am.   This additional fee must be paid in advance. If you decide to extend the time on the day or night of the event, the fee per hour is $500.00 and must be paid by cash that same night.
  • There will be a fee of $500.00 per hour for any lateness for weddings, rehearsals, receptions, and events.  The fee of $500.00 per hour or any part there of will be deducted from deposit funds for lateness. 
  • A refundable reception security deposit of $200.00 , wedding security deposit of $200.00, caterer security deposit of $200.00 is required at time of final payment (30 days prior to event). This deposit will be returned (30 days after event, by check) following determination that all regulations were adhered to, and assurance that property of the church has been accounted for, no damage has incurred to the property, and the property has not been left excessively dirty, (this includes the bathrooms, bride’s and groom’s room, and the parking lot.)
  • All payments must be made in the Gift Shop, by cash, credit card, or check. Checks are to be made out to The Ancient Spanish Monastery.
  • We are not permitted by our diocese to perform same-sex marriages or receptions.  If you deceive monastery staff into booking a same-sex marriage or reception, your event will be canceled on the spot, and no refund will be given.
  • Rice, bird seed, rose petals, wedding rice, sparklers, luminaries, confetti, or releasing untrained doves, are not permitted any where on the premises.
  • Dripless candles with heat and drip protectors are permitted in approved areas.  No candles are allowed to be placed on any carpeted  areas nor on the altars.  If there is any wax on the property after your event, the reception security deposit will be withheld.
  • The bride and/or event sponsor is responsible for contracting with caterers, florists,  and all vendors. Any damage done by any of your vendors, guests, or missing property will be charged against your deposit. 
  • If the bride or event authority can not be present at the end of the event to determine that the property is in order, she/he may appoint a representative, other than Monastery staff, to oversee inspections and approve sign-off to insure expedient return of the deposit.
  • All permits, deposits, refunds and fees are to be handled by the bride or event sponsor.
  • Caterer is responsible for providing sufficient extension cords, electrical panels, etc. to cover the event’s electrical needs.
  • Nothing may be attached or anchored in any way to any part of the monastery, including balustrades, urns, statues, pews, or decorative wrought iron.
  • Service road and parking access roads must be clear for emergency vehicles at all times.
  • Outside wedding coordinators, caterers, and other contractors must coordinate with the monastery’s coordinator in advance of the event.
  • It is the responsibility of the caterer to set up and break down all chairs and tables and properly dispose of all garbage  during an event.  Caterers are allowed on the property 3 hours prior to the event. No extensions of time are permitted .
  • Florists and decorators for weddings accompanied by a reception are allowed on the premises 3 hours prior to the wedding. For ceremonies only, they are allowed 1 hour before the ceremony.  Bridal party is allowed to arrive one hour prior to the event. No extensions .
  • The Ancient Spanish Monastery is a very antique building in a very natural setting.  Please expect the property to be rustic and natural. The building will not be altered, painted, or pressure cleaned for any event.  You may not make any changes to the property for your event, such as painting, or adding plants.  The monastery is set against the beautiful background of a South Florida Landscape.  Please expect the conditions that are present in any other Florida natural setting. (Potted plants are acceptable)
  • The Ancient Spanish Monastery is an Episcopal Church.  No statue or religious article may be moved or covered. Nothing in the Chapel, such as books or envelopes may be moved.
  • The Monastery is not responsible for any property that is damaged or stolen.  Please make arrangements to secure your property, this includes cars in the parking lot.  Any items left after the event is over will be disposed of by monastery staff.  We do not have a lost and found.
  • There is no smoking allowed anywhere on the grounds.  Please inform your guests.  There are no cigar rollers allowed.
